I just read your blog and am so sorry to hear this. My husband had a traumatic brain injury after a fall at work 2 1/2 years ago. It was a long road but he was back to work in the same capacity within a year. I don't know if they have mentioned Craig Hospital to you for rehab. but it is an amazing place. I will be praying for your family.

A tramatic brain injury is such a horrible thing to deal with, but as I always say...it is better than the alternative. I am so glad your son is alive and on the road to recovery. The thing about TBI's is that you just never know what, if anything, will change as a result of it. I have had the unfortunate experiance of having several close friends and family members suffer TBI's and the outcome has always been different. One suffered no ill effects, another was not able to have any short term memory gains, and a third went from being not very nice to being totally warm and open all the time. I know that you will have so much going on now and for a long time to come, but there is a book called "Where is the mango princess"
by a woman who writes about her experiance when her husband suffered at tramatic brain injury. I am so sorry that this had to happen and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your son.

Julie, I can relate. I was doing a CHA Clinic in NC when I got the news that my daughter had been in an accident in FL and would need serious plastic surgery on her face. You feel like your life has just stopped. It's an experience I wouldn't wish on anybody. I'm so glad that he is doing better. My prayers go out to you.

Julie, I can't even imagine what you're going through. My son was hit by a car last year, and that's the worst phone call in the world to receive. He came out of it with just a broken arm, but totalled the car that hit him. My thoughts and prayers go to you, Rich, and Hunter. He's in really great hands at St. A's.
